Color-Fade Guarantee
If a piece fades or tarnishes under normal wear within 2 years of your order, we'll replace it or refund you — your choice, claimed right from your account. This is a service commitment we stand behind on qualifying orders — not a claim printed on any one item.
Why 316L Surgical Steel
Every piece we curate is made of 316L stainless steel — the same alloy family used for surgical instruments. It's not a marketing word; it's a different recipe:
- Holds up against sweat and salt. 316L adds molybdenum, which ordinary stainless steel (like 304) doesn't have — that's what resists the chlorides in sweat, seawater and pool water.
- Low nickel release. Like all steel, 316L contains some nickel — but its passive chromium layer keeps it locked in, so far less reaches your skin than with ordinary alloys. That's what makes it the gentle end of the scale.
- The silver color is the steel itself. On silver-tone pieces there's no plating to wear off — shower, gym, ocean. Plated colors are covered by our Color-Fade Guarantee instead; a quick rinse-and-dry after wear keeps them bright longest.
Gentle on Skin
316L sits at the gentle end of the material scale: a passive chromium layer keeps the nickel locked in, so far less of it reaches your skin than with ordinary alloys. What a specific piece is made of is listed in the Specifications table on its product page — that is the place to check before you buy.
